One of major events of the year was held at Mount Harmon plantation in Maryland. This was a great spot, with woods, open hilly fields, and water to allow the event organizers to go wild with the scenarios. The one thing the planners couldn’t control was the weather, and the hard rain in the weeks leading up to the event probably discouraged many from attending. As it turned out, the rain held off for the event itself even though it left the weekend cool but very humid.

The tactical demonstrations were long, with action covering a large area. From one side of the field, all you could see is smoke from the action on the other side of the field. Its a great feeling to not know exactly what is going on, and relying on the commanders to ensure that units are deployed properly. On the first day, 4th Coy deployed in a small depression and fought its way up the hill and onto an open field where cavalry charges and flanking maneuvers on both sides made for a confusing melee. The second day was the opposite, with 4th Coy starting on the high ground and fighting to the depression before falling back into the open field for the final volleys with the Continental forces.
