The first event of the 2011 campaign season for 4th Coy was the annual encampment and tactical demonstration at Fort Ward in Alexandria in celebration of George Washington’s birthday. Ten members and recruits were present and helped to make the 4th Coy the anchor of the right side of the Crown Force line. The morning was spent drilling, which was much needed after a few months in winter quarters. The afternoon was an opportunity for some more drilling before the tactical demonstration. In a twist from earlier years, the skirmishing started away from the spectators and moved to the usual location. Like in earlier years, 4th Coy ultimately succumbed to overwhelming pressure from the 1st and 2nd Virginia regiments.
